Evansville, IN - July 18, 2022 – As part of the World Ballet Series, Swan Lake brings a fresh interpretation to the timeless classic, live at Old National Events Plaza on October 21. Choreographer Nadezhda Kalinina lovingly retouches Marius Petipa’s foundational version of the ballet in this must-see new production of Swan Lake.
The tour features a multinational cast of 50 professional ballet dancers gathered to bring this famous love story to the most celebrated stages across the U.S. Audiences will once again delight in the iconic Dance of the Little Swans, count the 32 fouettés performed by the Odile and immerse themselves in Tchaikovsky’s magical music.
The production includes richly detailed, hand-painted sets as well as over 150 radiant hand-sewn costumes created by Sergei Novikov in the tradition of the great masters. Special effects makeup developed by Award-winning Irina Strukova (Crazy Rich Asians, Netflix, HBO), makes devoted ballet fans feel as though they’re seeing Swan Lake for the first time!
